Description

Maragogype – Microlot | Amazonas

This limited-edition microlot features the rare Maragogype varietal, often called “elephant beans” for its unusually large size and low-density structure. Naturally low-yield and difficult to cultivate, Maragogype is prized for its refined cup quality and is rarely produced at scale.
Grown by Silvia Rodriguez Ocampo at Piedras Blancas in the highlands of Amazonas at 1,627 meters, this coffee benefits from slow maturation and careful hand selection. A washed process with anaerobic fermentation enhances clarity while preserving the varietal’s elegant character.
In the cup, expect vanilla, cacao nibs, and milk chocolate, lifted by a soft grapefruit brightness. Malic acidity, a smooth body, and a pleasant finish create a composed, approachable profile that highlights why Maragogype remains a favorite among those who seek rarity with balance.
